Competition Law

Competition encourages innovation and the rules governing it should be strictly and properly applied to avoid potential claims. You maynot be directly seeking an advice on a competition law issue, however, we have the legal expertise to spot any potential breach of competition law either in domestic level or in European level.

We may appear either before the Cyprus Competition Commission or the Court to represent a client.

European Element

Cyprus is a European Union Member State and European Law is directly applicable. European Competition Law regulates activities which affect the trade in the EU. The main aim is to regulate actions of prevention, restriction or distortion of competition within the EU.

If we may be of any assistance to you on any aspect of competition law, please do not hesitate to contact us. Below you can see a non-exhaustive list of the work we undertake:

  • Abuse of dominant position
  • Agency Agreements
  • Application of dissimilar conditions to equivalent transactions
  • Concluding contracts subject to acceptance by other parties of supplementary obligations which, by their nature or according to commercial usage, have no connection with the subject of the contracts.
  • Control conditions between competitors
  • Control conditions between non-competitors (supplier-distributor)
  • Distribution Agreements
  • Fix purchase or selling prices
  • Limit or control production
  • Share markets or sources of supply
